The Plot Thickens

After having disabled the camera, the man dressed as a prison guard reached the special cell, having made sure no one had taken a second look at him. He took out his keys and carefully, silently, opened the cell door. Inside, the prisoner was asleep, stretched out on the mattress, arms over his head. Carefully pulling the door behind him, the man advanced, a thin wire held out in his gloved hands. He stood behind the pillow, reached down with the wire, quickly wrapped it around the prisoner's throat, and yanked.

The prisoner made one strong, convulsive move as he opened his eyes and his mouth, clawed clumsily at the guard, and then fell back and was still. Without losing a second, the guard prepared the scene. He took out a rope from under his shirt, tied it in a noose around the dead man's neck, and dragged him from the bed. He spread the man in position on the floor. Then he tied the other end of the rope around the projection he had chosen and made sure the man fell foward, hanging from the short rope. He then turned his attention to the bed, getting rid of any signs of struggle, putting the pillow back, which had fallen on the floor, and folding the sheets and blanket to making it look like the man had simply decided to get out of bed. The guard stepped back and viewed his work. It looked exactly as he had been told it should look.

The prisoner had hanged himself.

We don't know what happened, and we never will, because the public is not privy to criminal investigations. But there are many people who believe this story. Or, a version of this story, because I made this one up. Checking internet this morning, I saw that a Wikipedia page has already been made, called "Jeffrey Epstein death conspiracy theories." At the moment, compared to everything roaming the internet, it's in its bare bones moment. The only detailed conspiracies are the ones against the Clintons, and Trump, though there's more against the first. First come, first serve. The theories against him were started first and got more traction.

Because no one believes this was a real suicide. Even if it is, no one will believe it. It's understandable. This man delivered young girls to satisfy the basest wants of rich and very powerful men. If he were found guilty and fell, he would most likely start pointing fingers and talking a lot, to try to reduce his sentence. He wouldn't have enough fingers on his hands and feet to point everywhere he needed to point.

One of the women recruited as a girl by Epstein, came forward last Friday and started to tell prosecuters about some of those who abused her. Among them were, Prince Andrew; Bill Richardson, ex-governor of New Mexico; Marvin Minsky, professor or otherwise affiliated to MIT; Jean-Luc Brunel, modeling agent; "another prince"; "a foreign Spanish president" (possibly Latin American); "a well-known prime minister"; and "the owner of a large French hotel chain." This is from an article in the Spanish newspaper, El Confidencial.

To those we can add Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. And I think we all know where the proclivity of these two lie, even though one may simply be a moral hypocrite, and the other an amoral narcissist. Both are birds of a feather in this field.

Knowing, however, that Clinton is finished in the political field, and his wife pretty much finished, as well, the only one with the requisite power in the Justice Department is the President, himself. He wants re-election in 2020.

See? There's no wonder why conspiracy theories have hit the top mark of looniness. It's a John Grisham novel being played out in real time. It's got everything; money, sex, power, and strange death. Our own newspapers, despite all the twists and turns acting Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is going to to form a government and avoid yet another election, are talking about and researching this intriguing news from the United States. Some are relishing the dig, and even making their own theories of whether or not one of our own powerful miscreants might be involved.

If anything, this has taken the focus off more serious issues, too. Gun control in the United States, the hundreds detained in Mississippi that left children without parents, and the Open Arms boat in the Mediterranean desperately asking for a port for the people it's rescued. It's even taken the focus off Richard Gere's delivery of food to the boat to help them out.

Whatever writer that feels they haven't got an idea for a story should just read the newspaper. John Grisham, I'm waiting for your version.

(For the record, I think it was an assisted suicide, too. Who offered assistance? Your guess is as good as mine.)

  1. What if he committed suicide because he know no one would believe it as revenge?
I don't believe he did commit suicide or it was assisted suicide. There's the theory that it isn't Epstein who is dead, but they substituted a body. This death will be the topic for generations.
